Born on 18 March 1960 in Koyu village, Lower Siang District. Overcame an orphaned, humble farming background to become a renowned social scientist. Earned B.A. and M.A. (History) from Punjab University (1977–1982) and a Ph.D. in Tani Language and Literature from CBM International University, Hawaii. First Arunachalee to clear All India Banking Service (1982). Served in Punjab National Bank until 1993, then as Managing Director of APIDFC. Invented Tanilipi, a scientific script for Tani languages, revealed in dreams (2000). Legendary Galo singer since 1978. Honoured with Bharat Jyoti Award and Arunachal Legendary Artiste Award (2025).
